Message from the Medical Director
As the President of MicroPath Laboratories, I would like to welcome you to our newly improved website. I speak for all the exceptional employees and pathologists at MicroPath Laboratories, when I say we are entirely committed to providing excellent patient-centered care and outstanding customer service to you- our physicians- and your patients. I hope that you will take a few minutes to explore our company and discover all the characteristics that uniquely define MicroPath Laboratories.
This year marks many milestones for us, most notably our 40th anniversary as an independent diagnostic and consultative anatomic laboratory. Every day our goal has been to assist physicians in the treatment of their patients by providing accurate, timely, dependable diagnoses. In meeting this goal, we build trust daily and provide physicians with decision-oriented health information, generally within twenty-four hours.
Our board certified pathologists possess sub-specialty and fellowship training in the areas of: breast pathology, cytopathology, dermatopathology, gastrointestinal pathology, genitourinary pathology, gynecologic pathology, hematopathology and molecular pathology. Referring physicians now have direct access to the expertise needed to definitively diagnose specimens within their specialty.
As advancements are made in medical research and technology, we remain committed to meeting the evolving needs of our referring physicians. As a result, this year we added a state-of-the-art molecular laboratory headed by Brian J. Yoder, DO, PhD who developed expertise in molecular pathology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Our molecular division offers fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) for breast and bladder cancers and includes testing for human papilloma virus (HPV) via PCR.
Other milestones we achieved this year include the purchase of a 20,000 square foot building for our laboratory and business office and the addition of Timothy J. Dickason, MD, a hematopathologist from the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
While celebrating goals attained this year, I remain confident there are many successes to come for MicroPath Laboratories.
